Theorem Solutions Launch Free Mixed Reality Visualization App on the Microsoft App Store

Our free Visualization application for the Microsoft HoloLens Mixed Reality device, has been officially launched on the Microsoft App Store, and is now available for download.

The App allows users to visualize and experience Engineering and Manufacturing design data in a mixed reality environment that combines the ‘real-world’ with high quality holographic representations.

It’s a simple process to download the free Visualization Experience App from the Microsoft App store, and only requires a few details for validation: Name, Company Name and a valid email address, as well as a Microsoft HoloLens Headset of course!

The user will then receive an email that needs to be responded to in order to unlock a free 90 day trial of our Mixed Reality Visualization Experience.

The Visualization Experience gives users access to a number of different sets of engineering data supplied by Theorem, that can be used to test the ‘experience’ in the Mixed Reality realm and see how the technology can suit a number of different use cases.

At any time during the free trial, users have the option to upgrade to the full subscription license (further details upon request) which will enable them to load their own engineering and manufacturing CAD and PLM data where it is automatically optimized for use in the Microsoft HoloLens.

Our Experience Server then streams the data to the device allowing the user to interact and engage with their data like never before. The data comes to life in the Visualization Experience as it’s selected on the device, giving the user complete freedom of movement to view, manipulate and interrogate their 3D data, all controlled by the use of hand gestures and voice commands.

Theorem’s latest Visualize 3D CATIA V5-JT supports R26

We are pleased to announce the release of the latest Visualize 3D CATIA V5 to JT product.

V19.4 supports CATIA V5 R19, R20, R21 and CATIA V5-6R2012 to CATIA V5-6R2016, as well as all versions of JT, up to and including JT file format version 10.0

Our Visualize 3D products are aimed at creating visualization data for users of digital mock-up, virtual reality or desktop applications.

This uni-directional product can be licensed with our JT to CATIA V5 product to create a bi-directional translator.

V19.4 enables the CATIA V5 user to create a JT representation of their data and supports the translation of assembly structure, geometry, attributes, 3D Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) (FTA) (GD&T) and Metadata between the worlds’ leading mechanical CAD/CAM systems, and in doing so facilitates Model Based Definition (MBD) processes.

V19.4 also includes:

  • Updated CATIA V5 Import and Export menus to utilise Unified Interface configurations
  • An updated and singular Daimler Configuration file which produces Daimler compliant JT data
  • Improved processing of PLMXML data


Using JT with additional 3D PMI data as part of a Model Based Definition process allows the user to reduce the overall design costs associated with the creation of conventional 2D drawings

Sharing CATIA V5 data using the neutral ISO standard JT format allows organisations to protect the intellectual property of their designs while allowing users to explore the shape to more easily understand the 3D definition. The IP protection can be enhanced by restricting the JT representation to be tessellated data only.

‘Multi-Device’ Digital Realities Visualization Experience App in action at COE 2017

Theorem’s latest Publish 3D CATIA V5-3D PDF release supports R26

We are pleased to announce the release of our latest CATIA V5-3D PDF product from the Publish 3D range.

V19.4 supports from CATIA V5 R19 up to and including R26, and includes a number of new and improved product features and enhancements.

There is improved support for both attribute information and exploded views, improvements to view and capture view orientation and improved handling of associated PMI.

Our Publish 3D3D PDF products enable the publishing of 3D CATIA data directly from within the CATIA V5 design application in to the interactive 3D PDF document format.

The published PDF document contains embedded interactive 3D representations of the native CATIA V5 data (within pre-defined templates), offering greater levels of Intellectual Property (IP) protection with support for separate passwords to control the editing of the 3D PDF output.

The Publish 3D product supports Model Based Definition (MBD) and 3D annotations and dimensions (PMI) from CATIA V5 into the 3D PDF format.

The inclusion of Theorem’s Unified Interface (UI) provides the opportunity for multiple PDF publishing from a single data source using the selection of ready-made templates, or the option of Theorem consultancy services to create bespoke templates.  Our UI helps the development and streamlining of translation and downstream processes by allowing engineering data to be filtered, viewed, interrogated, manipulated and translated interactively or in batches with the ability to publish user specific documentation.

Anybody with access to the freely available Adobe Reader®, either on a PC, tablet or smartphone can access the interactive 3D data and are able to view, mark up and interrogate the document without the use of specialist CAD software. As 3D PDF is an ISO standard (ISO 24517-1 (PDF/E) the technology can be easily integrated and can effectively become the protocol for easy, seamless document creation and communication.

Theorem’s Ford Supplier JT- CATIA V5-6R2016 (Version 19.3.108) for Ford FEDE-C3PNG SER3.5 Update Released

Theorem, a certified software supplier to Ford, have released the latest version of JT to CATIA V5 Ford Supplier Production Software, which is now available for download via either the Covisint or Theorem websites. The updated release is called JT-CATIA V5-6R2016 (Version 19.3.108) for Ford FEDE-C3PNG SER3.5 Update Release. Upgrade confirmation will also be sent to all suppliers from Ford together with additional details.

For this version, all users must ensure that they have upgraded their license to the Theorem Solutions version 19.0 or higher to enable the software to function. Any earlier licenses must be discarded.

Ford have chosen Theorem’s JT to CATIA V5 translator to support both their internal ‘Design in Context’ strategies and their defined process and methods for communicating design and manufacturing information with suppliers.

Suppliers moving to this latest release will benefit from continued updates of their environments to match that of Ford’s internal version, enabling them to seamlessly exchange data between Ford and themselves using JT format data.

The JT to CATIA V5 product directly converts JT data into CATIA V5. The software converts all forms of 3D mechanical design geometry and assembly data. In addition to structure and component information, it converts product manufacturing information (PMI) from an existing JT file, into a CATIA V5 representation, together with colour and system defined attribute information. In the context of Ford’s defined methods the software is run directly from within CATIA V5.
