Theorem’s latest Visualize 3D solution for SolidWorks-JT supports SolidWorks 2018

We are pleased to announce the release of the latest version of our Visualize 3D SolidWorks-JT product.

V21.3 supports SolidWorks 2016, 2017 and 2018 along with JT 10.

Features and enhancements in this release include the use of Save As from within SolidWorks to create JT output-providing the user with a consistent method of generating output from within SolidWorks.

Our Visualize 3D products are aimed at creating visualization data for users of digital mock-up, virtual reality or desktop applications.

Using JT with additional 3D PMI data as part of a Model Based Definition process allows the user to reduce the overall design costs associated with the creation of conventional 2D drawings.

Sharing SolidWorks data using the neutral ISO standard JT format allows organisations to protect the intellectual property of their designs while allowing users to explore the shape, and more easily understand the 3D definition. The IP protection can be enhanced by restricting the JT representation to be tessellated data only.

Enabling SolidWorks users to create high quality JT files allows them to share JT data with their customers and suppliers, facilitating collaboration.

SolidWorks and JT data can now be further utilised in Augmented, Mixed and Virtual Reality by using our Visualization Experiences App for Digital Realities.

Theorem’s latest Multi-CAD supports CATIA V5 R28

Our V21.3 CATIA V5 Multi-CAD to JT product has been released with a number of new product features and enhancements, alongside general updates to improve stability and geometry quality.

Integrated within the CATIA V5 application V21.3 supports from CATIA V5-6R2015 to CATIA V5-6R2018, and all versions of JT, up to and including 10.0, providing the user with the highest levels of interoperability with JT file assemblies.

This CATIA V5 Multi-CAD to JT product is uni-directional product but can be packaged with Theorem’s JT to CATIA V5 Multi-CAD product to become a bi-directional translator.

New features and enhancements in V21.3 include:

  • CATIA V5 transparency replicated in JT output-The benefit of maintaining an equivalent view of the CATIA V5 data in JT saves time and money that would otherwise be used to either support additional communication between CAD users and non CAD users, or alternatively increases costs of deploying expensive CAD licenses to downstream teams.
  • Improvements to PMI/geometry cross highlighting in JT output-Having an ability to highlight specifically which pieces of geometry are related to which dimension ensures that the information is unambiguous, leading to a reduction in costly reworking’s of outputs when the information is misunderstood. Consequently potential costly quality issues are also avoided.
  •  CATIA V5 Section Views defined within FTA Captures are now exported to the JT file- Having a capability of retaining these section views in the JT output again ensures that the person reviewing the information as a clear understanding of the definition. This all goes towards avoiding costly mistakes that occur when the information isn’t clearly understandable.

 

Our CATIA V5 Multi-CAD to JT Product is based upon the Dassault Systemes XCAD infrastructure, allowing CATIA V5 users to incorporate parts and assemblies from JT, directly within the CATIA environment and removing the need for external translators. The application checks geometry for errors and validates the integrity of the data as it comes into CATIA. The beauty of the Dassault Multi-CAD architecture is the interlinking of the CATIA data and non-native data.

Using Multi-CAD offers a greater level of security and protection as the link to the source data is a direct link, without the need to leave the application or use 3rd party external applications. This also removes any errors that can occur from working with potentially old and out of date data.

Theorem’s latest CADverter supports CATIA V5 R28 and NX 12

We are pleased to announce the release of their latest CADverter for CATIA V5 > NX users.

This uni-directional CADverter can also be licensed with our NX > CATIA V5 CADverter to create a bi-directional translator.

Integrated within the CATIA application, V21.2 supports all revisions of CATIA V4, CATIA V5-6R2015- V5-6R2018 and NX 10, NX 11 and NX 12.

New features and enhancements in V21.2 include

  • Improved processing of Instance Colours to enhance the quality for users
  • Interactive processing enhanced to allow importing of CGR files into NX, enabling users of CGR to take advantage of the interactive processing method.
  • Support for processing NX containing subordinate JT files, which enables users of combined NX / JT assemblies to process them in one translation to CATIA V5, making it more efficient for users of this type of data.
  • Improvements to the processing of PMI view associations, so when PMI is read from CATIA V5 it is processed to the correct views in NX.

 

CADverter products translate assembly structure, geometry, attributes and, where available, 3D Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) and Metadata between CATIA V5 and NX, supporting Model Based Definition (MBD) processes.

The aim of the CADverter is to allow the user to translate any data that they have held in a CATIA format and make it usable in NX for various use cases, whether the downstream user wants a lightweight reference part to model around, or a precise copy of the data translated to allow measurement and editing of translated models.

Creo View data can now be created and shared independently of CATIA V5 with Theorem’s Visualize 3D solution

We are pleased to announce the latest release of Visualize 3D 21.2 for CATIA V5i > Creo View.

Our CATIA V5i > Creo View solution allows CATIA users, who have limited or no access to a licensed install of CATIA V5, to create and share Creo View data without needing access to a CATIA V5 license.

Licenses of vendor specific CAD applications can be expensive resources to purchase and also to maintain, so it doesn’t help when they are tied up for long periods of time on more design activities or when there aren’t enough available licenses to be able to multi-task different design projects. The CATIA V5i to Creo View product is the ideal solution for CATIA V5 users who have to supply native 3D mechanical design data in the lightweight Creo View format to customers and suppliers when limited resources are available.

Our CATIA V5i > Creo View is a uni-directional converter between the Dassault Systems’ CATIA V5 modelling application and the Creo View product viewer from PTC. Create and Share JT data independently of CATIA V5 with Theorem’s Visualize 3D

We are pleased to announce the latest release V21.2 of our CATIA V5i to JT visualization solution – part of the Visualize 3D product suite.

Our CATIA V5i- JT is a uni-directional direct database converter between the Dassault Systems’ V5 modelling application and the JT file format used by the Siemens VisMockUp visualization product. It can be packaged with our JT-CATIA V5i to create a bi-directional product. It enables users to convert all forms of 3Dimensional mechanical design geometry and assembly data, together with system defined attribute and colour information, between the CATIA V5 and JT systems.

Our CATIA V5i-JT visualization solution allows CATIA users to continue working whilst reading or writing JT data without needing access to their CATIA V5 licenses.

  • The ability to control the processing of properties by use of a property mapping file. This enables the user to manipulate and filter which attribute data is exported, protecting any IP data.
  • An option to report mass property values into the progress file for review. Values such as volume, surface area and centre of gravity are now being reported in an audit log, which can be used to validate the conversion process.
