Theorem’s Augmented, Mixed and Virtual Reality Experiences to be showcased at GPDIS 2018

Our participation for the 5th consecutive year at the Global Product Data Interoperability Summit 2018 taking place in Phoenix, Arizona 17th -20th September 2018 underscores our commitment to providing first-class interoperability solutions for the worldwide aerospace industry.

You’ll find us this year on stand #29, where we will be demonstrating our latest visualization innovation that utilises existing CAD and PLM assets in Augmented, Mixed and Virtual Reality devices – known as Digital Realities.

Digital Realities is an out of the box, data and device agnostic, task focused application delivering engineering and manufacturing experiences to the latest digital technologies for:

  • Visualization
  • Design Reviews
  • Manufacturing Build
  • Factory Layout

Engineering and Manufacturing businesses are increasingly looking into the benefits of using AR, MR and VR to improve processes and collaboration, cut costs and make access to data easier. Digital Realities is helping to make that possible with a single application.

Our Principal Technical Consultant Trevor Leeson will be giving a presentation on ‘The Challenges of Working with Digital Twins’, which will discuss how to exploit your existing CAD & PLM assets within the emerging world of Augmented Reality, and the use of digital twin technology for design review, service & maintenance and manufacturing activities.

The experiences utilise existing CAD and PLM data assets from CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE, CATIA V5, CREO, Inventor, JT, NX, SolidWorks and STEP and can also merge data from ERP, MES, CRM and proprietary databases which adds further value to the experience.

By making these low cost devices accessible, and democratising the use of AR, MR and VR technology, Theorem’s Experiences are opening up an entirely new way to interact with Engineering and Manufacturing data up and down the supply chain.

The Digital Realities App currently supports the following devices:

  • Augmented Reality (AR) – Windows 10, iOS and Android Tablets and Smartphones
  • Mixed Reality (MR) – Microsoft HoloLens
  • Virtual Reality (VR) – HTC Vive and Oculus Rift

Stop by stand #29 and try out the experiences on the devices for yourself.

We will also be available to offer expert advice on our range of 3D PDF document publishing solutions, CAD Visualisation solutions and STEP translators which all offer significant benefits to aerospace OEMs and supply chain networks.

Experience Theorem’s ‘Multi-Device’ Visualization Experiences App at VR World 2017

The Theorem team will be at VR World (stand C25) in London, UK, on 16th and 17th May 2017 to demonstrate our latest Multi-Device Visualization Experience Application for:

  • Augmented Reality (AR) – Windows 10 and Android Tablets and Phones
  • Mixed Reality (MR) – Microsoft HoloLens
  • Virtual Reality (VR) – HTC Vive and Oculus Rift

The Multi-Device application is a single application which is built using the Unity graphics engine, producing stunning graphical representations of Engineering and Manufacturing data, which is a real game changer to the world of traditional CAD graphics and visualization.

The experience utilises existing CAD and PLM data assets from CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE, CATIA V5, CREO, Inventor, JT, NX, SolidWorks and STEP and can also merge data from other databases such as ERP, MES and CRM, along with proprietary databases, to further add value to the Digital Realities application.

Being Multi-Device, the application allows you to use the same data, in the same visualization application, on ALL of the different low-cost devices. The application can be downloaded and installed on each device in minutes.

Data only needs to be optimised and prepared for use once using our ‘Optimisation and Experience Servers’, which then delivers the same Visualization Experience across all supported platforms, helping to save money on data preparation, training and support.

By putting the technology in the hands of everybody, these low-cost devices are bringing an entirely new dimension to the way you can interact with your Engineering and Manufacturing data.

A free trial of the Visualization Experience application is now available to download from the Microsoft App store for the Microsoft HoloLens, Mixed Reality device. The app allows users to visualize and experience Engineering and Manufacturing design data in a mixed reality environment that combines the ‘real-world’ with high quality holographic representations. This will be available to experience at our booth.

Our Sales Director, David Shackleton, will also be taking part in a panel discussion regarding ‘How is Construction going Digital’ in the Innovation Theatre.
