Theorem’s latest Visualize 3D solution for SolidWorks-JT supports SolidWorks 2018

We are pleased to announce the release of the latest version of our Visualize 3D SolidWorks-JT product.

V21.3 supports SolidWorks 2016, 2017 and 2018 along with JT 10.

Features and enhancements in this release include the use of Save As from within SolidWorks to create JT output-providing the user with a consistent method of generating output from within SolidWorks.

Our Visualize 3D products are aimed at creating visualization data for users of digital mock-up, virtual reality or desktop applications.

Using JT with additional 3D PMI data as part of a Model Based Definition process allows the user to reduce the overall design costs associated with the creation of conventional 2D drawings.

Sharing SolidWorks data using the neutral ISO standard JT format allows organisations to protect the intellectual property of their designs while allowing users to explore the shape, and more easily understand the 3D definition. The IP protection can be enhanced by restricting the JT representation to be tessellated data only.

Enabling SolidWorks users to create high quality JT files allows them to share JT data with their customers and suppliers, facilitating collaboration.

SolidWorks and JT data can now be further utilised in Augmented, Mixed and Virtual Reality by using our Visualization Experiences App for Digital Realities.

Theorem’s latest Multi-CAD supports CATIA V5 R28

Our V21.3 CATIA V5 Multi-CAD to JT product has been released with a number of new product features and enhancements, alongside general updates to improve stability and geometry quality.

Integrated within the CATIA V5 application V21.3 supports from CATIA V5-6R2015 to CATIA V5-6R2018, and all versions of JT, up to and including 10.0, providing the user with the highest levels of interoperability with JT file assemblies.

This CATIA V5 Multi-CAD to JT product is uni-directional product but can be packaged with Theorem’s JT to CATIA V5 Multi-CAD product to become a bi-directional translator.

New features and enhancements in V21.3 include:

  • CATIA V5 transparency replicated in JT output-The benefit of maintaining an equivalent view of the CATIA V5 data in JT saves time and money that would otherwise be used to either support additional communication between CAD users and non CAD users, or alternatively increases costs of deploying expensive CAD licenses to downstream teams.
  • Improvements to PMI/geometry cross highlighting in JT output-Having an ability to highlight specifically which pieces of geometry are related to which dimension ensures that the information is unambiguous, leading to a reduction in costly reworking’s of outputs when the information is misunderstood. Consequently potential costly quality issues are also avoided.
  •  CATIA V5 Section Views defined within FTA Captures are now exported to the JT file- Having a capability of retaining these section views in the JT output again ensures that the person reviewing the information as a clear understanding of the definition. This all goes towards avoiding costly mistakes that occur when the information isn’t clearly understandable.

 

Our CATIA V5 Multi-CAD to JT Product is based upon the Dassault Systemes XCAD infrastructure, allowing CATIA V5 users to incorporate parts and assemblies from JT, directly within the CATIA environment and removing the need for external translators. The application checks geometry for errors and validates the integrity of the data as it comes into CATIA. The beauty of the Dassault Multi-CAD architecture is the interlinking of the CATIA data and non-native data.

Using Multi-CAD offers a greater level of security and protection as the link to the source data is a direct link, without the need to leave the application or use 3rd party external applications. This also removes any errors that can occur from working with potentially old and out of date data.

Theorem’s latest Visualize 3D Inventor to Creo View Adapter supports Inventor 2019

We are pleased to announce the release of our V21.3 Inventor to Creo View Visualize 3D adapter supporting Inventor 2017, 2018 and 2019, and up to and including Creo View 4.2.

This product has been developed using the Autodesk Inventor Development Environment and translates the latest Inventor data into the Creo View format. It can work with just Inventor View (a free application) needed to be installed, so a full license of Inventor is not required.

The Inventor to Creo View Adapter can also be integrated into a Windchill environment allowing Inventor managed data to be published and visualized on demand. As the Creo View data output is then synchronized with the Inventor source, an accurate up-to-date, version of the design is always available, therefore reducing costly errors.

Publish Creo data into an interactive 3D PDF with Theorem’s Publish 3D

We are pleased to announce the release of the latest Creo-3D PDF publisher from the Publish 3D product range.

Our Publish 3D 3D PDF products enable the publishing of 3D Creo data directly from within the design application in to an interactive 3D PDF document format, or an HTML5 output.

V21.3 supports Creo 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 and has a number of new features and enhancements, including:

  • The processing of display Curves shown in a Combined State. When displaying a layer state within a combined view, generally only the solid and annotations are processed to PDF. This will also process any curves which are needed for downstream activities (engraving or welding positions etc.)
  • Support for the translations of Offset Cross Sections, which are used to help simplify the component display.
  • Improvements to Layer Visibility and Combination states, which help improve the way geometry is displayed, ensuring less confusion for the person viewing it.
  • Addition of UI Creo Read Instance argument, giving the user more options when processing the file. This will help the user present the pdf display in a manner suitable to them.

The published PDF document contains embedded interactive 3D representations of the native Creo data (within pre-defined templates), offering greater levels of Intellectual Property (IP) protection with support for separate passwords to control either the access to the document as well as separate passwords to enable any editing of the 3D PDF output.

The Publish 3D product supports Model Based Definition (MBD) and 3D annotations and dimensions (PMI) from Creo into the 3D PDF format.

Anybody with access to the freely available Adobe Reader®, either on a PC, tablet or smartphone can access the interactive 3D data and are able to view, mark up and interrogate the document without the use of specialist CAD software. As 3D PDF is an ISO standard, the technology is easily integrated and can effectively become the protocol for easy, seamless document creation and communication.

Theorem’s latest Visualize 3D Inventor to JT supports Inventor 2019

We are pleased to announce the latest release of our V21.3 Inventor to JT Visualize 3D translator supporting Inventor 2017, 2018 and 2019, and up to and including the JT file format version 10.0.

The Inventor to JT translator has been developed using the Autodesk Inventor Development Environment and translates up to and including the latest versions of Inventor data into the JT file format. The translator can be run using the freely available Inventor View application as a minimum system requirement, so access to a full license of Inventor is not required. The translator processes all JT assembly types, regardless of data structure.

Our Visualize 3D products are aimed at creating visualization data for users of digital mock-up, virtual reality or desktop applications and support the translation of assembly structure, geometry and attributes.

Our new UI helps the development and streamlining of translation and downstream processes by allowing engineering data to be filtered, viewed, interrogated, manipulated and translated interactively or in batches with the ability to publish user specific documentation.

Theorem’s latest CADverter supports CATIA V5 R28 and NX 12

We are pleased to announce the release of their latest CADverter for CATIA V5 > NX users.

This uni-directional CADverter can also be licensed with our NX > CATIA V5 CADverter to create a bi-directional translator.

Integrated within the CATIA application, V21.2 supports all revisions of CATIA V4, CATIA V5-6R2015- V5-6R2018 and NX 10, NX 11 and NX 12.

New features and enhancements in V21.2 include

  • Improved processing of Instance Colours to enhance the quality for users
  • Interactive processing enhanced to allow importing of CGR files into NX, enabling users of CGR to take advantage of the interactive processing method.
  • Support for processing NX containing subordinate JT files, which enables users of combined NX / JT assemblies to process them in one translation to CATIA V5, making it more efficient for users of this type of data.
  • Improvements to the processing of PMI view associations, so when PMI is read from CATIA V5 it is processed to the correct views in NX.

 

CADverter products translate assembly structure, geometry, attributes and, where available, 3D Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) and Metadata between CATIA V5 and NX, supporting Model Based Definition (MBD) processes.

The ProSTEP iViP association is hosting its fourth JT Open Day on 5th November 2018 in Wolfsburg, Germany, and we will be presenting our current capabilities to support the JT standard as well as utilising JT data within our Digital Realities solutions.

Theorem are taking part in ProSTEP iViP and AFNeT’s STEP AP242 Day in Toulouse

ProSTEP iViP and AFNeT associations are hosting a STEP AP242 day on October 17th, 2018 at the Airbus facility in Toulouse, and we will be presenting our current capabilities to support the STEP AP242 standard and accessing the data within our Digital Realities solutions.

Create and Share JT data independently of CATIA V5 with Theorem’s Visualize 3D

We are pleased to announce the latest release V21.2 of our CATIA V5i to JT visualization solution – part of the Visualize 3D product suite.

Our CATIA V5i- JT is a uni-directional direct database converter between the Dassault Systems’ V5 modelling application and the JT file format used by the Siemens VisMockUp visualization product. It can be packaged with our JT-CATIA V5i to create a bi-directional product. It enables users to convert all forms of 3Dimensional mechanical design geometry and assembly data, together with system defined attribute and colour information, between the CATIA V5 and JT systems.

Our CATIA V5i-JT visualization solution allows CATIA users to continue working whilst reading or writing JT data without needing access to their CATIA V5 licenses.

Publish JT data directly into interactive 3D PDF’s with Theorem’s Publish 3D

We are pleased to announce the release of the latest JT to 3D PDF product from the Publish 3D range, with new and improved product features and enhancements, and support for JT 10.x.

Our Publish 3D – 3D PDF products enable the publishing of JT data directly into the interactive 3D PDF document format.

The published PDF document contains embedded interactive 3D representations of the native JT data (within pre-defined templates), offering greater levels of Intellectual Property (IP) protection, with support for separate passwords to control the editing of the 3D PDF output.

New enhancements for V21.1:

  • The ability to add images into tables which, rather than use text to describe individual parts in a BOM table, can be used to make clearer which parts are in question. Using images also makes a template more visually appealing for the end user.
  • When creating a new template, all images can be saved to a single directory and one command used to import them all, rather than having to import each individual image.
  • More dynamic and customizable templates can now be created with improved CSS support for active BOM tables and highlighted parts.

Our Unified Interface (UI) provides the opportunity for multiple PDF publishing from a single data source using the selection of ready-made templates, or the option of Theorem consultancy services to create bespoke templates.  The UI helps the development and streamlining of translation and downstream processes by allowing engineering data to be filtered, viewed, interrogated, manipulated and translated interactively or in batches with the ability to publish user specific documentation.

The Publish 3D product supports Model Based Definition (MBD) and 3D annotations and dimensions (PMI) from JT into the 3D PDF format.

Anybody with access to the freely available Adobe Reader®, either on a PC, tablet or smartphone can access the interactive 3D data and are able to view, mark up and interrogate the document without the use of specialist CAD software. As 3D PDF is an ISO standard (ISO 24517-1 (PDF/E), the technology can be easily integrated and can effectively become the protocol for easy, seamless document creation and communication.

Theorem’s latest Visualize 3D- CATIA V5-Creo View Adapter supports CATIA V5 R28

We are pleased to announce the release of our latest Visualize 3D Adapter for CATIA V5 to Creo View users supporting up to and including CATIA V5-6R2014-2018.

For those that need to work with, or share, visualization data as part of design and manufacturing processes, the Theorem Visualize 3D suite of products offers direct translation of 3D data for the purpose of Visualization.

Our Visualize 3D brand supports lightweight data formats with a focus specifically on the direct translation of 3D CAD data from mechanical CAD systems for the purpose of Visualization, enabling users to work with and share data directly between different CAD and Visualization applications and are aimed at creating visualization data for users of digital mock-up, desktop and tablet viewing applications.

Using Visualize 3D as a direct conversion tool between CATIA V5 to Creo View reduces processing time, simplifies integration and retains accuracy of the model.

V21.1 now supports up to and including CATIA V5-6R2014-2018 and Creo View 4.2.

V21.1 can be used independently of WindChill, or integrated into WindChill, allowing CATIA V5 managed data to be published and visualized on demand. As the Creo View data output is then synchronized with the CATIA source, an accurate up-to-date version of the design is always available, reducing costly errors.

The CATIA V5 to Creo View suite helps to secure Intellectual Property, but at the same time supports a rich enough set of design data intelligence so that suppliers have all of the information required to complete their job.

Theorem’s latest Publish 3D solution supports CATIA V5 R28

We are pleased to announce the release of our latest 3D PDF Publisher for CATIA V5 from the Publish 3D product range.

V21.1 supports from CATIA V5 R24 up to and including CATIA V5 R28, and includes a number of new and improved product features and enhancements.

Our Publish 3D 3D PDF products enable the publishing of 3D CATIA data directly from within the CATIA V5 design application in to an interactive 3D PDF document format, or a HTML5 output.

Other features and enhancements in this release include:

  • Faster (up to 20x) processing for small/medium CATIA V5 datasets
  • Improved CSS support for active BOM tables and highlighted parts, meaning a more dynamic and customisable template can be created.
  • Options to insert images into the template -A directory can be provided and all of the images contained within will be added to the template, saving time.
  • Ability to insert images into tables from external files- Enables the user to import images into buttons and image fields, allowing the creation of more dynamic and customisable templates.

The published PDF document contains embedded interactive 3D representations of the native CATIA V5 data (within pre-defined templates), offering greater levels of Intellectual Property (IP) protection with support for separate passwords to control either the access to the document as well as separate passwords to enable any editing of the 3D PDF output.

Creo View data can now be created and shared independently of CATIA V5 with Theorem’s latest Visualize 3D product

We are pleased to announce the latest release of Visualize 3D 20.3 for CATIA V5i > Creo View.

Our CATIA V5i > Creo View solution allows CATIA users, who have limited or no access to a licensed install of CATIA V5, to create and share Creo View data without needing access to a CATIA V5 license.

Licenses of vendor specific CAD applications can be expensive resources to purchase and also to maintain, so it doesn’t help when they are tied up for long periods of time on more design activities or when there aren’t enough available licenses to be able to multi-task different design projects. The CATIA V5i to Creo View product is the ideal solution for CATIA V5 users who have to supply native 3D mechanical design data in the lightweight Creo View format to customers and suppliers when limited resources are available.

Our CATIA V5i > Creo View is a uni-directional converter between the Dassault Systems’ CATIA V5 modelling application and the Creo View product viewer from PTC. It has been developed using the Spatial (Dassault) Interop Development Environment and supports all CATIA V5 revisions up to and including V5-6R2017, as well as up to Creo View 4.1.

Theorem will be showcasing experiences for Augmented, Mixed and Virtual Reality at PTC LiveWorx 2018

We will be at this year’s PTC LiveWorx in Boston, USA, from 17th– 20th June 2018.
