Theorem’s latest Publish 3D release publishes CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE data to 3D PDF

We are pleased to announce the release of our latest CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE- 3D PDF product from the Publish 3D range of products. V19.3 supports CATIA V6R2013x, and 3DEXPERIENCE R2014x, R2015x and R2016x.

Our 3D PDF Publisher for CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE offers a 3D PDF publishing solution for CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE users, enabling them to share their engineering data created in CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE with departments who do not have CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE but need access to a 3D representation.

Since 3D PDF is 3D content in a standard PDF, it enables companies to create rich documents with 3D CAD data inside, which can be viewed, manipulated and marked up with Adobe’s free reader. What 3D does is remove ambiguity when reviewing product data.

V19.3 includes support for exporting CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE Product Manufacturing Information PMI (FTA, GD&T), allowing the user to facilitate Model Based Definition (MBD) processes containing the necessary information to manufacture and inspect products, without the need for 2D engineering drawings which are time consuming and costly to produce.

Using Publish 3D to create a 3D PDF controls and protects the Intellectual Property (IP) contained within the document. Passwords and document rights access can be added to the 3D PDF and different levels of control can be created for different users. This will ensure that the integrity of the information is maintained and that only the correct people can access the data, allowing companies to further protect their intellectual property (IP) when sharing the data throughout the extended enterprise.

V19.3 is an interactive solution that is integrated in the CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE menu system allowing the user to export the active assembly/part in PDF format using ‘Export’ PDF capability. The application can also be run in batch mode to create 3D PDF data through the CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE PLM Batch Interface.

Being lightweight, and an openly published ISO standard, 3D PDF is ideal for effective collaboration while maintaining the original 3D geometry and product information. As it is free to consume, it is accessible to everyone and works for internal sharing and for collaborating within the supply chain.

Our strategic partnership with Dassault Systemes ensures that there is parallel development between the latest releases of CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE and Theorems Publish 3D products, allowing us to continue to provide publishing solutions to the CAD community.

Theorem are joining forces with other members of the 3D PDF Consortium for DMC 2016

We are delighted to be partnering up with other member companies of the 3D PDF Consortium on booth #438 at 2016’s Defense Manufacturing Conference (DMC).

The event takes place on 11/28/2016- 12/01/2016 in Denver, Colorado, USA and brings together leaders from government, industry, and academia to exchange perspectives and information about critical Department of Defense (DoD) manufacturing technologies. The focus is on the production and sustainability of affordable defense systems.

Alongside the other 3D PDF Consortium members, we will be showcasing 3D PDF, the many features and benefits of 3D PDF and how it is revolutionising the way that CAD data can be shared within an organisation and up and down the wider supply chain.

Publishing to 3D PDF from native CAD and Visualization data supports the processing of Model Based Definition (MBD) information. 3D annotations, dimensions (PMI/FTA/GD&T), assembly structure, geometry, views, and attribute data (where available) are published to the 3D PDF document at the point of creation helping to streamline the design and manufacturing process into a paper free digital process.

3D PDF lets you share any interactive 3D model with anyone in the world without the requirement for CAD viewing software. 3D PDF solutions enable the creation of documents enriched with interactive 3D content directly from native CAD applications into the PDF format.

Jerry McFeeters, Executive Director of the 3D PDF Consortium, will present an overview of the 3DPDF Consortium and how it can be applied to defense manufacturing technologies.

This is the premier national forum for presenting and discussing initiatives aimed at addressing enhanced defense and related national manufacturing capabilities and requirements.

Theorem’s latest V19.3 release for JT to CATIA Composer

Our V19.3 JT to CATIA Composer, from the Publish 3D range of products, is now available with new and improved product features and enhancements for the CATIA Composer user needing to work with JT data.

V19.3 supports CATIA Composer, up to and including 2016x, alongside API support for Dassault’s Multi-CAD and JT’s Jtk 8.0.

Working within the Dassault Systèmes Composer architecture, the Publish 3D range provides interactive, batch and command line interfaces for CATIA Composer users to directly access JT data independently of any JT products, and is self-contained and version independent for improved ease of use.

CATIA Composer users can now open JT data including geometry, assemblies, product structure, metadata and Product Manufacturing Information (PMI). Once data has been imported it can be manipulated using the extensive functionality of the CATIA Composer application. The system is very quick and easy to learn and use, with functionality driven from a pull down menu aiding the creation of assembly procedures, technical illustrations, interactive 3D product experiences, training materials, marketing materials, sales tools and more.

With the growing trend to re-use 3D design data across business enterprises, the integration of JT and CATIA Composer enables users across the enterprise to work with JT files to meet and overcome longstanding business challenges of reducing costs, improving quality and reducing timescales, and delivers tangible business benefits.

Our strategic partnerships with Dassault Systemes and Siemens ensures that there is a parallel development between the latest releases of CATIA Composer, JT and Theorem’s products, allowing us to continue to provide data solutions to the Composer community.

Theorem’s latest NX to CATIA V5 Multi-CAD product release supports R26

We are pleased to announce the latest release of our NX to CATIA V5 Multi-CAD product, with a number of new product features and enhancements alongside general updates to improve stability and geometry quality.

Integrated within the CATIA V5 application V19.3 supports from CATIA V5-6R2013 up to and including CATIA V5-6R2016, and NX 8.5, 9.0 and 10.0, providing the user with the highest levels of interoperability. This NX to CATIA V5 Multi-CAD product is a uni-directional product designed to import NX data into CATIA but can be packaged with the CATIA V5 Multi-CAD to NX product to become a bi-directional solution.

Our NX to CATIA V5 Multi-CAD product is based upon the Dassault Systemes XCAD infrastructure, allowing CATIA V5 users to incorporate parts and assemblies from NX, directly within the CATIA environment and removing the need for external translators. The application checks geometry for errors and validates the integrity of the data as it comes into CATIA. The beauty of the solution is the interlinking of the CATIA V5 data and non-native NX data.

V19.3 supports CATIA exact geometry data and NX BREP geometry. This allows the data to be used in a design context and supports complex solids, surfaces and curves with a high accuracy. It also supports the creation of CATIA and NX tessellated data. By creating the lightweight tessellated form users can create reference parts to a high degree of accuracy, and the process is quicker, producing a smaller output file size which is good for data exchange requirements.

Support for the incorporation of NX data with model views/PMI to CATIA data with capture views/FTA allows those who are using paperless engineering to share designs with suppliers and partners.

Theorem’s Multi-CAD application system is a low cost and efficient solution to the problems that can be encountered when different CAD systems collaborate on projects and ensures the integrity of the CAD data whilst allowing the seamless sharing of files between users.

Our strategic partnerships with Dassault Systemes and Siemens  ensures that there is a parallel development between the latest releases of CATIA V5, NX and Theorem’s Multi-CAD products, allowing us to continue to provide data solutions for the CATIA and NX communities.

Theorem’s latest Visualize 3D CATIA V5 to JT release supports R26

We are pleased to announce the release of the latest V19.3 CATIA V5 to JT Visualize 3D product.

V19.3 supports CATIA V5 R19, R21 and CATIA V5-6R2012 to CATIA V5-6R2016, as well as all versions of JT, up to and including JT file format version 10.0

Our Visualize 3D products are aimed at creating visualization data for users of digital mock-up, virtual reality or desktop applications.

This uni-directional product can be packaged with our JT to CATIA V5 product to create a bi-directional translator.

V19.3 enables the CATIA V5 user to create a JT representation of their data and supports the translation of assembly structure, geometry, attributes, 3D Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) (FTA) (GD&T) and Metadata between the worlds’ leading mechanical CAD/CAM systems, and in doing so facilitates Model Based Definition (MBD) processes.

Using JT documents with additional 3D PMI data as part of a Model Based Definition process allows the user to reduce the overall design costs associated with the creation of conventional 2D drawings

Sharing CATIA V5 data using the neutral ISO standard JT format allows organisations to protect the intellectual property of their designs while allowing users to explore the shape to more easily understand the 3D definition. The IP protection can be enhanced by restricting the JT representation to be tessellated data only.

Theorem’s strategic partnerships with Dassault Systemes and Siemens ensures that there is parallel development between the latest releases of CATIA V5 and JT, and our Visualize 3D products, allowing Theorem to continue to provide data solutions for CATIA V5 users wanting to create JT data.
