Theorem will be showcasing the latest Visualization Experience App for Augmented, Mixed and Virtual Reality at the Siemens PLM World Regional User Group in Detroit

We are proud to be a sponsor at the Regional User Group conference of Siemens PLM World users in Detroit, USA on 5th October 2017.

The Theorem team will be on booth #12, demonstrating our latest Multi-Device Visualization Experience Application for NX and JT users using:

  • Augmented Reality (AR) – Windows 10 and Android Tablets and Smartphones
  • Mixed Reality (MR) – Microsoft HoloLens
  • Virtual Reality (VR) – HTC Vive and Oculus Rift

The Multi-Device application is a single application built from the ground up to produce stunning graphical representations of your CAD and PLM data, which is a real game changer to the world of traditional CAD graphics and visualization.

The experience utilises existing CAD and PLM data assets from NX and JT, and can also merge data from ERP, MES, CRM and proprietary databases which adds further value to the Digital Realities application.

Using Theorem’s ‘Optimisation and Experience Servers’, your data only needs to be optimised and prepared for use once. It then delivers the same Visualization Experience across all supported platforms helping to save money on data preparation, training and support. This allows you to use the same data, in the same visualization application, on ALL of the different devices. The application can be downloaded and installed on each device in minutes.

By making these low cost devices accessible, and democratising the use of AR, MR and VR technology, our Visualization Experiences are opening up an entirely new way to interact with Engineering and Manufacturing data up and down the supply chain by utilising existing CAD and PLM assets in all areas, including: Design, Manufacturing, Assembly, Training, Service, Showroom, Sales and Marketing, IoT and Digital Twin.

We will also be available to offer expert advice on our range of 3D PDF document publishing solutions for the Siemens NX and JT user.

As well as Theorem’s own products, the conference offers information and updates on all of the Siemens PLM software applications, including Teamcenter, NX, Tecnomatix and Teamcenter Visualization amongst others.

As a sponsor, and a long standing Siemens PLM solution partner and Vendor Member of the JT Open initiative, we look forward to welcoming you to the event and showcasing our latest PLM productivity enhancing solutions for the Siemens NX and JT user.

Theorem release V.20 CADverter NX-ICEMSurf

We are pleased to announce the release of V20.0 CADverter NX<>ICEMSurf.

This bi-directional translator supports NX 9, 10 and 11 along with ICEMSurf 2016 and 2017.

New and improved product features and enhancements in V20 include:

  • The product can now be used in conjunction with the Theorem UI. This allows translation configurations to be created and maintained, enabling flexible translation capabilities in a simple to use drag and drop interface
  • Conversions from within ICEMSurf can utilise United Interface configurations
  • Configurations can be named to suit the type of data and translation
  • Named configurations can be used on the command line
  • Installer now uses Microsoft Installer
  • The teil/molecule (Surf structure) is now supported in both directions
  • Convergent modelling data (NX 11 only) can now be converted to ICEMSurf
  • Colours are supported when translating from NX into ICEMSurf
  • Datum Axis systems are now converted
  • Import of scanned data from NX

Our strategic partnerships with Siemens and Dassault Systemes ensures that there is parallel development between the latest releases of NX and ICEMSurf, and Theorem’s CADverter products, allowing us to continue to provide data solutions for the Siemens and CATIA communities.

Theorem’s 3D PDF Add-on provides publishing capabilities for CATIA V5-Creo View Visualization products

A 3D PDF add on is now available to complement and enhance our CATIA V5 to Creo View visualization product, which is part of the Visualize 3D range. This Visualize 3D product enables CATIA V5 assembly, geometry and attribute data, including manufacturing information, to be published in a Creo View format, extending the use of 3D data throughout the enterprise and supply chain as well as providing input data for multiple downstream processes.

The 3D PDF Add-on allows CATIA V5 data to be published to a 3D PDF, along with the original Creo View output, from the same CATIA V5 source. A 3D PDF gives users all of the features of a standard PDF but with the added, interactive 3D representation of the CATIA V5 data that can be manipulated, marked-up and annotated.

Features of a 3D PDF

Using the Adobe toolbar you are able to:

  • Explode views
  • Show attribute information
  • Manipulate 3D data using zoom, pan and rotate
  • View product structure tree and hide/show different items within that structure
  • Include attachments so that a complete technical data package can be created
  • Manually mark-up and annotation
  • Cross section parts
  • Change the graphics for the 3D data using Model Rendering
  • Change lighting, background colour, text colour etc.
  • Control of the 3D geometry content using tessellated representations.

A number of widgets, such as carousels, tables, check boxes and drop down lists are also available.

3D PDF also allows users to add additional documents as attachments to create Technical Data Packages, and secure their intellectual property by placing passwords and document rights access controls onto the document.

3D PDF is a great way of leveraging CAD and PLM assets, and a simple and cost effective way of sharing those assets with others.

Our strategic partnerships with Dassault Systemes and PTC ensures that there is parallel development between the latest releases of CATIA V5, Creo View, and Theorem’s Visualize 3D products, allowing us to continue to provide data solutions for CATIA V5 users wanting to Visualize their data in a different format.
